Photo Album: Attic Tent and Blown-in Insulation In Clarkton, NC 28433
This customer was looking for a solution to their high energy bills and unconsistent home temperatures. They have lived in the home for 40 years and still have the orginial insulation in the attic. After Ben performed an evaluation of the attic space, our crew went out the home to blow in cellulose insulation over the existing insulation. This brought up the R-value of the entire attic, providing a more temperate home environment. An attic tent was installed over the attic access door to keep the heat from the attic, in the attic and out of the living space. Now, our customers are enjoying a more comfortable home with lower energy bills.
A low R-value decreases the insulation's ability to resist heat flow.
Fiberglass insulation slows heat transfer through conduction.
After Blow In
Blown insulation not only increases the overall R-value, but
Attic tents are used to keep warm, or cool, attic air from entering the living space through the attic access door.
This 40 year old insulation has compressed over time, causing air to flow easily through it.
