Crawl Space Insulation Before & After Photos

This home's crawl space was filled with fallen insulation, pests, and mildew. All of these things can lead to an uncomfortable living environment in the home! A full encapsulation will help solve these issues as well as prevent them from happening in the future! 

When there is moisture underneath a home, mold tends to grow decreasing air quality. This home had mold growth in the crawl space, so Carolina Energy Conservation sprayed a mold treatment, MoldX, and placed a vapor barrier around the crawl space to prevent future mold growth.  

Jim from Myrtle Beach noticed his energy bill increasing throughout the warm summer months. He decided to give Carolina Energy Conservation a call to see if we could help. After comfort specialist, Joel, evaluated their home, he found that the crawl space underneath their home was exposed to pests, mold, and mosture. This wreaked havoc on the insulation underneath the house causing inconsistent temperatures throughout their home. A crew was sent out to encapsulate the crawl space with a vapor barrier that seals off the outside environment from the crawl space so that moisture and pests cannot get into the insulation. Now with a fully encapsulated crawl space, Jim is enjoying his cool home without worry of damaged insulation or drafty floors. 

This home was scheduled to be raise by a local builder and the homeowner wanted new insulation. The homeowner chose Carolina Energy Conservation and then scheduled us 6 months later, once the home was raised, to complete the crawlspace insulation. 

Moisture can seap into a crawl space through the ground and infrastructure causing mold growth and musty air. This can tend to get into the breathable air inside the home as well causing discomfort and potentially some heatlh hazards. This customer was noticing uncomfortable floors in their home and after a Carolina Energy Conservation Comfort Specialist visited the home, they saw where moisture was making its way into the crawl space. The CEC crew placed a vapor barrier around the entire crawl space to make for a dry environment below the home.
